Julie Valdez

As an associate attorney at Florida Advocates, Julie is responsible for overseeing and handling discovery for the firm’s insurance cases. Prior to joining Florida Advocates, she worked at a small Plaintiff’s personal injury law firm where she worked on bodily injury cases. She is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida and is fluent in Spanish. 


Julie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice (with Honors) from Florida International University. At FIU, she was a member of several Honors Societies, as well as a sorority sister of Phi Mu. She is also a Florida Bright Futures Scholar. Additionally, during her time at FIU, Julie helped raise money for several organizations, including the Children’s Hospital and the Make a Wish Foundation.

After her time at FIU, Julie attended St. Thomas University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctorate degree.

While attending Law School, Julie was on the Dean’s List and served as a member of International Moot Court, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Florida Association of Women Lawyers, Cuban American Student Bar Association, and the Public Interest Law Students Association. In addition, Julie served as a Judicial Intern to Judge Abby Cynamon, and as an Immigration Clinic Intern in her third year of Law School. She also participated as a Law Clerk for the “Put Something Back” Pro Bono Project of the Dade County Bar Association.
